I've included snapshots of the Dutch flag, Madurodam
(a miniature city in Holland), and some beautiful tulips to show you a
few Dutch things. I was born in Holland, but my family immigrated
to the USA when I was six years old. My mother is Dutch and my father
was Polish. Click on the Dutch flag to go to the Dutch Home Page
(mostly in Dutch). Click on the tulips to go to a page about Holland
-- in English.
-------------------------------- One of the best things I've ever done is to raise two intelligent, talented, witty, lovely daughters, Christine and Alyssa. Christine graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University; she designs and builds furniture and works in a woodworking shop in Richmond, VA. Alyssa graduated from Old Dominion University in 1998; she is now in graduate school at Emory University, Atlanta, GA. |
This is a sample of some of Christine's work (and her co-worker/friend, Stacey Fairnholt) located in the Innsbrook Corporate Center west of Richmond. Christine works for Franko LaFratta & Farinholt in Richmond. Below is a freestanding "totem" which provides a landmark at the end of the entrance corridor in the building. |
Below are a couple of examples of the structures of G-coupled protein receptors in Dictyostelium discoideum cells, cAR2, modeled using an x-ray crystallized structure, various internet resources, the Sybyl modelling program, MODELLER, and WHAT IF. My daughter, Alyssa, worked on this project at Emory University during the summer of '98. The examples below are linked to the web page she developed at Emory for this project. |
The pictures below show you how much I like to travel and places I still want to see. |
I re-charge my energy by spending time trying new recipes, listening to music, reading, gardening, and visiting art museums. |
I also like going to the theater and ballet/modern dance, dancing, skiing, bicycling, playing tennis, and seeing movies. |
This is Dudley. He's a West Highland Terrier and I am his godmother. Isn't he a terrific-looking dog? I don't want to say that too loud because I don't think he knows he's a dog and I'm not really sure how he would take the news. I take care of Dudley occasionally when his parents go out of town and we have a great time together. We like to play with his soccer ball, take walks, watch TV, play with his toys, play hide and seek, eat snacks together, and we also take naps together sometimes. We also have long talks about life in general. I am also godmother to a cocker spaniel named Katy. Some people say my life has really gone to the dogs! Woof! Woof! |
